On the right you can see East Deer Lake Road. This map is not quite exact when it comes to the cow trails that ring the lake. East Deer Lake Road, from Haney's Road, north to where the pavement ends at Julius Terrace, is about 3 miles. Then you have a dirt road for another three or so miles till you get to the top of the panhandle. The road does not go around the panhandle.
The road at the bottom is some dirt, some asphalt, and is knowns as Southwood Shores road. It can be accessed off of Haney Road on the East, and just before the Public Access area on the West.
The public access area, on this map, is where Cedar and George road meet, although in reality that is not correct. As you travel along North Deer Lake Road, you will see a nice sign pointing it out to you. This is the only free area for the public to launch boats on this lake. There is a nice parking area, and a ramp, but no dock. It also has a pair of One Holers.
On this map, North Deer Lake Road is shown as CR B223 for some reason. it is the main access road along this side of the lake. As noted above, it does not go around the lake. But it does go up to the Kankasu Resort, which is about 7 miles further on.
